Thomas Riis-Bristow

I have been a proud supporter of Edward’s Trust since 2011. When I was first introduced to the lovely team who work at the Trust, I felt an immediate affinity with the charity and so I have been helping to support them in any way I can ever since.

By way of background, I am an Associate Solicitor at Irwin Mitchell Solicitors, working in the heart of Birmingham. Prior to this, I completed my legal studies at the College of Law in Birmingham and later qualified as a solicitor in Irwin Mitchell’s medical negligence team in Birmingham in 2011.  Ever since, I have specialised in helping clients who have been injured or families of those who have sadly lost a loved one as a result of medical negligence. It was through my work that I first became aware of Edward’s Trust, whilst representing a mother who sadly lost her two year old son as a result of failings in his medical care.  I have since gone on to work with a number of clients supported by the Trust and I both understand and have seen first-hand the benefits of the wonderful work that the Trust does.

In 2013 I was honoured to become a patron of Edward’s Trust and I am proud to support and continually help to raise the profile of this great charity. I have recently been invited to join the board of Trustees and I am grateful for the opportunity to support Edward’s Trust moving forward.

My favourite fundraising events for the Trust so far include a World Record attempt at face painting and taking part in two abseils from very tall buildings!  Outside of work I enjoy cycling, cooking, skiing and spending time with my family.
