Last month we welcomed Lindy Michaelson-Yeates to the team at Edward’s Trust. Now, more than ever, Schools need an extra bit of help to support bereaved children and young people so we are delighted that Lindy joins us and we are able to offer Schools that additional bit of support. Here’s a bit about Lindy.

‘Hi I’m Lindy. I joined Edward’s Trust in October as a children’s and young people’s counsellor. I have been busy settling in and getting to know everyone. It’s been a challenging year for everyone and the pandemic certainly makes it an interesting time to start a new role, but I am fortunate to already be supporting some fantastic individuals and really enjoying the work we are doing together.

Before joining Edward’s Trust I was a school counsellor working across Primary and Secondary. I really enjoy getting to know each young person that I work with. I always admire how they find the courage to give counselling a go, and feel honoured if they choose to share their story with me. Seeing these young people undertake difficult journeys and watching them develop and find strength is a privilege.

As a parent to two boys I never underestimate the leap of faith we ask parents to take when they entrust a counsellor with their own children, especially when these children are experiencing difficulties and seem at their most vulnerable.

When not working I enjoy hanging out with my own family, reading, cooking and walking my rescue dog Luna.’

Welcome to the team Lindy! We’re so glad to have you with us.
