We are celebrating the invaluable contribution that our incredible volunteers make to give back and help bereaved families every day
Volunteers’ Week runs from Monday 2nd – Sunday 8th June, and it’s the perfect opportunity for us to recognise and celebrate our amazing volunteers, the dedicated members of Friends of Edward’s Trust (FOET), for all that they do for Edward’s Trust and the bereaved families we support.
FOET is a kind-hearted and brilliant group of volunteers, who for over a decade have been coming together to support the needs of Edward’s Trust. Their contribution has an amazing impact in our local community!

They are an exceptional group of volunteers who are committed to making a difference in a large range of ways in which they give their time and skills. With the bereaved families we support being at the heart of everything they do, FOET members play an integral role within Edward’s Trust through volunteering, supporting, organising, presenting, crafting, assisting, donating, fundraising, thanking, networking, sharing, relationship building, cheering and everything in between!
The dedication and commitment of our FOET Volunteers is invaluable and has a huge impact, allowing us to do more for the bereaved families we support.
We would like to encourage everyone to take a moment during Volunteers’ Week to appreciate the remarkable contributions of these wonderful individuals and be inspired by their actions. Please join us in celebrating and thanking all the FOET volunteers for all they do!

“Volunteering at Edward’s Trust, the friends I have made and being with people feeling the same way has helped me cope in a more positive way. I know I can talk about Josh & how I feel and everyone really understands. I thank Edward’s Trust for the help and support they gave my family but also for the help and support they have given me through the FOET group”
Sue
“To be able to give back now & know that another family is receiving the support that we received is well worth the time I am able to give!”
Donna
“Being part of the FOET group helps bring a focus & being with other volunteers is a great sense of camaraderie and togetherness!”
Richard
“Volunteering for ET enables me to give something back to such a special charity who helped me in my darkest hour & put my life back together, it helped me to become the person I am today. It enables me to keep Dane’s memory alive by doing something positive whilst making new valuable friendships with some very special people”
Sarah

When does FOET meet?
FOET usually meet monthly on a Saturday morning between 10am – 12pm approx.
Dedicated volunteers come to FOET, a fun and sociable setting – where we catch up, drink tea/coffee, enjoy cakes and biscuits and each other’s company. We usually meet at Edward’s Trust and sometimes we alter this to meet in cafés or community spaces.
At our monthly get togethers we take time to ‘check in’ on each other and support one another with dedicated social time. FOET is a special place to make connections and grow friendships. We reflect on past Edward’s Trust events and plan upcoming events and activities, discussing volunteer availability. FOET work together to Fly the Kite for Edward’s Trust.
