Edwards Trust Golf Day

bereavement services for parents, children and families in the west midlands

Thank you to all who took part!

We recently celebrated another incredible Edward’s Trust golf day, hosted by our wonderful ambassador Richard Page at Hearsall Golf Club in Coventry.

For almost two decades, Richard has brought together golfers, businesses, supporters, and friends to raise vital funds for Edward’s Trust. This year marked his 19th annual golf day, and we are incredibly proud to share that Richard’s golf days alone have raised an extraordinary £250,000 for our charity.

Richard’s fundraising journey began following the sudden and unexpected loss of his beloved daughter, Natalie. During a time of unimaginable grief, Richard received support from Edward’s Trust. Inspired by the difference that support made, Richard has spent the last 19 years giving back and helping ensure that other children, young people and families facing the death of someone they love can access the support they need.

The 19th golf day was another wonderful celebration of community, generosity and friendship. Guests enjoyed a fantastic day on the course, followed by a delicious carvery, and auction, with everyone coming together to support bereaved families across the region.

We were also privileged to hear an inspirational story from Diane, who shared her experience of receiving support from Edward’s Trust for two years following the sudden death of her daughter, Alice. Diane spoke movingly about the difference that Edward’s Trust made during one of the most difficult times in her life and reminded everyone of the lasting impact that our supporters have for families when they need us most.

While final figures are still being calculated, provisional totals suggest this year’s event has raised over £7,500 for Edward’s Trust.

Events like this simply would not be possible without the incredible generosity, commitment and kindness of our supporters. We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped make the day such a success.

A special thank you goes to:

    • Richard Page and David Christie, for the huge amount of time, passion and dedication they continue to put into organising this fantastic event.

    • The team at Hearsall Golf Club, for their warm welcome and support in making the day possible.

    • Our generous sponsoring teams from AXA Insurance, MJ Boyce & Co Ltd, and Ecl-IPS.

    • Every team who took part and supported the event.

    • Everyone who donated auction prizes, placed bids, entered the raffle and contributed to the fundraising total.

    • Our wonderful volunteers, who helped with set-up and ensured everything ran smoothly.

A special mention must also go to the incredible Ace Golf Trick Shots; Ady once again provided one of the highlights of the day with his amazing skills and entertainment.

We were also incredibly grateful to those who made generous pledges towards our Big Give Christmas Challenge campaign. Thanks to their kindness, we reached 25% of our fundraising target on the night, helping us move one step closer to unlocking vital funds for families who need our support.

Next year marks a very special milestone: Richard Page’s 20th Edward’s Trust golf day. We already know it will be a celebration like no other, and we cannot wait to mark this incredible achievement with Richard, our supporters and the wider Edward’s Trust community. Watch this space…
