We are delighted to announce that former Lord Mayor of Birmingham and Birmingham City Councillor Randal Brew OBE has joined Edward’s Trust as our newest Patron, a role that reflects the incredible support he has already shown us over many years.
Randal has been a huge supporter of Edward’s Trust along with his late wife Sandra for many decades. Together, they were particularly involved during his tenure as Lord Mayor of Birmingham between 2007 and 2008, especially supporting and promoting the work our charity does helping bereaved children.
Last Thursday 3rd April 2025, our Chair of Trustees Christine Bodkin and our Patron Judy Dyke visited him to formally ask him to become a Patron and he was delighted to accept. They presented him with a certificate as well as a series of photos in which, together with his wife Sandra, he championed our cause in the community, attended events and helped raise vital awareness about Edward’s Trust and the work that we do supporting bereaved local families across the West Midlands. It was a lovely visit sharing lots of happy memories of the events Randal and Sandra held for us.
We are incredibly grateful to Randal for accepting to be an Edward’s Trust Patron, continuing to stand with us as we walk alongside those facing loss and bereavement.
