It’s been quite a challenge for our counselling team to be supporting families online and by phone during the lockdown, but it is a challenge they have risen to, delivering support in new and innovative ways. One of our children’s counsellors has been working with our Edward’s Trust children very creatively to engage them in activities they can do together, but in their own homes. The first project involved planting sunflower seeds, Sue Dale says, of Seeds of Hope, ”during these difficult & challenging times Edward’s Trust children have had great fun planting giant sunflower seeds inspiring hope and growth. At the end of the summer, fingers crossed, we will enjoy giant sunflowers. One of the creative ways in which we are engaging & supporting children in their grief’  About last weeks project, Made with Love – Sue says, ‘during lockdown we have been encouraging our Edwardโ€™s Trust children to participate in things they love to do & make them feel a little happier. Our Baking week was great fun we enjoyed Chocolate & raspberry brownies, choc chip fairy cakes, biscuit faces and jiggly Japanese Cheesecakes.
