Dedication page

Dedication Page – more information

For many years our Edward’s Trust families have been asking us whether we have a dedication page – a place online where they can remember their loved ones. So, working with ‘Much Loved‘ memorial tribute charity, we are delighted to now be able to offer this to families who are having or have had have support from Edward’s Trust. Most families have one dedication for their loved one on this page & this will sit on the page indefinitely (& drop down the page as more dedications are posted by other Edward’s Trust families) Although it is possible to set up more than one dedication in memory of the same person, a better feature for family and friends to post and donate for one individual might be to set up a ‘tribute page‘ rather than post on the Edward’s Trust ‘dedication page’. More details of this feature and other one-off campaigns for seasons and special days will be coming in the new year.

How do I get a dedication on the page?

It is very simple. All you need to do is email fundraising@edwardstrust.org.uk or use the contact us section below, let us know that you would like to set up a dedication on our dedication page and give us the name of the person who you would like to remember. We will then send you a link to the dedication page. Follow through the easy steps and the name, dedication and photo (if you wish to include one) will be added to the site within minutes.  You will then have the link to view the page which you can share with family and friends. The page is not visible to anyone who does not have the link.  Please note, most families just have one dedication on this page. In the new year we will be launching ‘tribute pages’ which any family or friends can post on.

How much does it cost?

We ask for a minimum donation of £5 to feature a dedication but you can donate any amount. ‘Much Loved’ is also a charity, so all of the money donated is Gift Aided and will come back into the work of Edward’s Trust, enabling us to support more bereaved families.

Why is it called, ‘Fly a Kite’ for someone special?

The Kite is the Edward’s Trust logo for a few reasons. The original kite was an image that Edward drew, (the charity is set up by the parents of Edward Dent, who died when he was 7 years old) The kite also has deeper meaning, such as our commitment to offer support without strings (Edward’s Trust is unique in that there is no time limit to the support we offer) You can read more about Edward’s Trust and the symbolism of the Kite on our ‘About Us‘ page. We could have had a remembrance garden or a river scene or other options but we chose the option of flying a kite to remember someone special because it fits with our ethos and the journey of Edward’s kite.

Neither myself nor any family members recieved support from Edward’s Trust, can I still set up a dedication?

At this stage, this dedication page is just for members of our Edward’s Trust family (those who have received counselling or wellbeing therapy from us) or other family members.  This is our first dedication page and if it goes well we will be looking at setting up other broader ways to remember your loved one.
