Tomorrow is The National Day of Reflection – an annual event that takes place on March 23rd. It was initiated by the end-of-life charity Marie Curie to mark one year since the first UK lockdown in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The day is intended to encourage people to take a moment to reflect on the impact of the pandemic, remember those who have lost their lives, and support those who have been affected by the crisis. It also provides an opportunity to thank the many people who have been working tirelessly to keep essential services running and to care for the sick and vulnerable.
There are various ways you can get involved including local events, downloading a free toolkit of resources and attending a number of free online talks. You can find more information here
The National Day of Reflection is marked by a minute’s silence at noon to remember those who have died from COVID-19 or any other cause during the pandemic. Here at Edward’s Trust we will be lighting a candle at as a symbol of hope and in support of those who are grieving, particularly those who have come to us for support following a loss. Do join us.
