Here in the fundraising team we are continually thinking up new and exciting alternative fundraising ideas to engage with our supporters and give them opportunities to support us. Last night we hosted our first ever online quiz! Not having done anything like this before, we were taking a bit of a risk, but it was a risk that paid off!

We received 78 donations for our quiz and 65 teams took part, this enabled us to raise a brilliant £940 for our bereaved families at Edward’s Trust, who in the current climate need our support more than ever.  £940 equates to another 20 hours of bereavement support – THANK YOU!

Congratulations to 1st Place: ‘Gin O’clock’, 2nd Place: ‘The Clappening’ and 3rd Place: ‘The Rule of Law’ – we hope you are super proud of yourselves and looking forward to receiving your prizes!  Can you please get in touch with us on: lucy.goodway@edwardstrust.org.uk so we can get the prizes to you!

We received lots of wonderful feedback last night, and lots of people requesting to do it again.  This is something we will most definitely consider over the coming weeks, and on that note if you wouldn’t mind giving us a bit of feedback in letting us know if you would like to join in again and your preferred night to play the quiz.  We cannot accommodate everyone’s requests, but we will certainly do our best to find an evening that suits the majority.  It is also vital that you send us your email address after signing up, unfortunately 2 supporters were unable to join in last night because we had no way of getting in touch with them.  Unless you are paying through your own Just Giving account, we have no way of collecting your email address, so it is important you email fundraising@edwardstrust.org.uk to let us have the Just Giving reference number.  We can then email you the joining details and will also ask your team name once you have registered, as it will be great to put faces to quiz names! These are some of the things we can ensure to make it run even more smoothly next time!

We also need to thank our amazing Quiz Master Steve Saul from Route 39 Ltd, who was brilliant last night!  Steve gave up his evening to host this quiz for us, and did a fantastic job hosting 65 teams!  He has very kindly offered to host this again for us, so we look forward to getting back in touch with him very soon!  Top job Steve! THANK YOU!

On behalf of all the staff, counsellors, wellbeing therapists and our wonderful families, we thank you for your wonderful support!  Please ensure you are following us on Facebook, Twitter and Linked-In and watch this space for the next one!

Don’t forget you can also support us by doing an #Isolation Challenge, hosting a 4 0’Clock Cake this weekend or buying a virtual raffle ticket (to be drawn on 1st June)
