Thanks to a brilliant collaboration of businesses, Edward’s Trust is adding a mysterious new event to our 2023 calendar!
An Edward’s Trust Whodunnit! – A priceless heirloom. A ship full of suspects. Can you work out the clues and solve the case?
The Sapphire in the Kite, is an evening of immersive theatre over a meal. It is being written and produced especially for us by the fabulous folk at Century Tours! Not only that, but with help from wonderful set design of Nikki Shaw of Poppin Parties it will be set on our very own Cruise Ship, The Kite Flyer! We’re also really grateful to Mark Hallam from Travel Counsellors and BNI Mercury, who support us as their charity, for pulling together the idea and for his cruise expertise. You might even see some of our very own Edward’s Trust staff amongst the suspects!!
A “Whodunnit” is a term used to describe a genre of mystery fiction, in which the main plot centres around the investigation of a crime and the effort to identify the perpetrator. The term “Whodunit” is derived from the phrase “Who has done it?” and is often used to describe a mystery novel, play, or movie where the reader or viewer is kept in suspense until the end, when the identity of the criminal is revealed.
In a typical Whodunnit story, the crime is usually committed at the beginning of the story, and the rest of the narrative is focused on the investigation of the crime, and the motives and alibis of the various suspects. The detective or investigator in the story will usually piece together clues and interrogate witnesses, until finally, the criminal is unmasked and brought to justice.
In an immersive Whodunnit event, the guests get to channel their own Poirot or Marple and have a go at solving the case.
We can promise you drama and suspense, but also lots of laughs as the story unfolds before your very eyes over a delicious 4-course dinner. It’s a perfect team event so why not gather your best buddies to puzzle it out with you and join us for a fantastic evening?
