Why fundraise & how it helps

Every year around 700 families are referred to Edward’s Trust. It costs approximately £600,000 per annum to fund the care offered to bereaved families. We believe that the range of support services provided ensure the very best care for bereaved families to rebuild their lives after experiencing devastating grief and see hope for the future.

Edward’s Trust makes a real difference to the lives of bereaved families and you can help us to continue making a difference by supporting our work. Edward’s Trust received now government or NHS funding and therefore relies on donations from supporters, fundraising events and trusts and grants to continue offering our vital services.

Every year we see a greater demand for our services and with you help we can continue to offer our vital services.

In memory of someone special

Host a celebration event in memory of someone special

If that special person in your life is approaching a special milestone, 5th Birthday, 10th Birthday, 18th Birthday, 21st Birthday etc consider a party to celebrate how special they were!  Invite all your family and friends who would like to remember them too!  This creates a community of togetherness whilst reflecting on and remembering the life of a loved one!

A leaf for life

If you have used Edward’s Trust, you may want to buy a ‘Leaf for a Life.’  The leaf will be inscribed with the name of your loved one, and hung in our garden at the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire, where you can visit for quiet contemplation.  Our leaves cost £25, contact fundraising@edwardstrust.org.uk If you would like to order one.  They make lovely gifts for families.

Tribute pages

You can set up a Just Giving page in memory of someone from our Just Giving Page: www.justgiving.com/edwardstrust, select ‘raise money for us’ and then ‘Remembering Someone.’ It’s a great way for family and friends to have an opportunity to ‘take a moment’ to remember and reflect and see the difference that person made to the lives of others.

Volunteer with us

Join our ‘Friends of Edward’s Trust’ (FOET)… We are a group of wonderful, like-minded VOLUNTEERS who come together to support the needs of the Trust.  The commitment they offer is invaluable in terms of volunteering, supporting and fundraising; with our bereaved families being at the heart of everything they do…

Funerals

One way to celebrate the life of someone special is by asking family and friends to donate to a charity instead of buying flowers.  Funeral directors can organize a collection and ensure Edward’s Trust receive the money, or you can set up and share a Just giving Page (for Instructions on how to do this, contact fundraising@edwardstrust.org.uk)

Legacies

Could you help our families with a gift in your will?  These gifts are exempt from Inheritance tax, which could be reduced further if you leave 10% or more to charity, we are always really grateful when someone remembers us and we can then help even more bereaved families.
